Mission Statement

The Madison Middle School Band Program strives to impact our peers and community through high levels of music performance and academic achievement. It is our goal to share not only music, but also the friendship and creativity that comes along with making music.

Teacher Bio

Mr. Squibb received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of New Mexico. While there he performed and recorded with the nationally acclaimed UNM Wind Symphony as well as the UNM Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Spirit Marching Band.  His private teachers included Dr. Karl Hinterbichler, Dave Tall, and Dr. Richard White.   

Mr. Squibb had numerous teaching experiences prior to beginning work for VUSD this year. In 2015, he was employed by the New Mexico Philharmonic as a brass instructor and ensemble conductor for the Young Musician Initiative (YMI), an instrumental music program for disadvantaged elementary level students. In 2017, Mr. Squibb began working for Deer Valley Unified School District in Phoenix, Arizona. He first served as the Choir, Orchestra, and General Music teacher at Sierra Verde School K-8. In 2018, he moved schools to teach Band and General Music at West Wing School K-8. While there, enrollment in band grew significantly and the 8th grade band earned a Superior rating for the first time in school history. 

In his free time, Mr.Squibb enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the movies, seeking out live music, and traveling as much as possible.
